Northeast Iowa Regional Housing Trust Fund
Upper Explorerland established a Northeast Iowa Regional Housing Trust Fund for Allamakee, Clayton, Howard, and Winneshiek Counties. The Housing Assistance Plan has been approved for certification from the Iowa Finance Authority (IFA). The goal is to develop, redevelop, rehabilitate, and renovate single-family and/or multi-family owner-occupied and rental dwellings. This will be to render assistance to economically and socially disadvantaged persons in Allamakee, Clayton, Howard, and Winneshiek Counties. The benefits of the NE Iowa Regional Housing Trust Fund will bring $296,876.25 to NE Iowa’s low-moderate income residents. It will possibly fund: roof repair, furnace repair and replacement, energy efficiency updates, electrical and plumbing, handicap accessibility, home buyer assistance, etc. $71,850 was raised for matching funds towards the $237,501 application.
